HOLY SATURDAY
Matthew 27:57-66

Jesus died.  That is obscured in a lot of our churches, the fact that Jesus died, and it is not really faced.  Of course the angels tell us not to be afraid, but that’s easy for them to say, they are angels.  

We as humans we basically have two fears…  One is that if we don’t slow down we could all have heart attacks.  The other is that if we don’t hurry up we won’t accomplish all the things we want to before we have the heart attack. 

But today is a day of waiting.  Waiting because we don’t know what the future holds.  Waiting because so many of our dreams have been crushed.  Waiting because it feels as if the Wilderness is closing in around us. 

Pray with me: Lord, help me to not be afraid in the midst of waiting.  Help me. Help me. Help me.  Amen                                          – Stan Smith
