Prayer Collage Sessions – Season’s Changing…
1st Wednesdays of the Month – October & December
6:00-7:30 p.m., Worship & Wonder Room
Fall is here…or coming! As the weather makes some efforts to transition to cooler temperatures, we can notice the challenge of change in our own lives. Gather in community for space to pray, de-stress, and have fun, with super-accessible collage. You’ll be given some simple suggestions to guide the process, yet you are welcome to create “outside of the lines.” You’ll be given a brief devotional prompt at the beginning which might shape your focus for the evening. Every fall the Moderator appoints a Nominating Committee to recruit elected leaders for the coming year. This year’s Committee is Joe Quartucci, Chair, Natasha Corich, Tim Ringgold, Rose Thomas and Nita Walker. In the next few weeks the Committee will be asking you to submit names of those you believe would be well suited for the various positions that need to be filled. Please give their request serious and prayerful consideration and join me in thanking the Committee for taking on this most important task.
A Celebration of LGBTQ Identities and Relationships: Saints, Martyrs and Us by FCC Discipleship Team
Sergius and Bacchus were Roman soldiers in the fourth century. They were gay, Christian and in a committed relationship recognized by the state. Perpetua and Felicitas were North African Christian women in the third century, who deeply loved each other. All four were martyred and later celebrated by the early Christian Church for their faith and love for each other. We share their seldom told stories and join them with our own, celebrating our identities and relationships as LGBTQ people of faith.
October 8 from 700 – 8:00 pm

Check out Pastor Dayna’s sermon “Wow!” from Sunday September 24, 2017. (Final in the Series on Anne Lamott’s Help, Thanks, Wow)

Survey on Climate
We invite your participation in the American Climate Metrics Survey on behalf of ecoAmerica/Blessed Tomorrow. The increasing intensity and frequency of climate impacts compel us to elevate our leadership on the issue. To help shape Disciples of Christ’s next steps, we want to better understand your attitudes and awareness on climate change and what we can do as faith leaders. As a valued member of Disciples of Christ, we want to make sure that we count your voice in this research.
Please take this 15 minute survey (which must be done in one session). Your individual answers are confidential and will be aggregated for analysis by ecoAmerica. Should you encounter any problems or questions while taking the survey, please contact Paige Fery, the administrator of the survey paige@ecoAmerica.org. Thank you for your participation.
