Keep close to Nature’s heart and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.— John Muir

Living the Questions 2.0 (LtQ2) | Adult Study Class
Chapter 14 | Honoring Creation
Sundays 8:30 a.m. – Fireside Room

Focus for April 4: While human beings have been gifted with a beautiful and complex world in which to live, its systems and resources are being stressed by our behaviors, lifestyles, and arrogance. Care for the environment is not only deeply biblical and practical, but increasingly critical – for both the present spiritual life and for our collective future.

Remember that you can drop in to any session of the Adult Study class at any time.

Prayer Collage – Getting Ready for Holy Week

Wednesday – April 5
6:00-7:30 p.m., Worship/Wonder Rm

Want to do something creative during Lent, yet not expend a lot of energy? Collage can be one of the most effortless yet satisfying art forms. Get ready for Holy Week gathered with others, for space to engage your spirit, no matter where you are on the journey. You’ll be given some simple suggestions to guide the process, yet you are welcome to create in another direction. Supplies provided. No artsy inclinations needed. Come, breathe, unwind, and pray with your eyes and hands.

Equal Exchange Coffee and Chocolate

Do you know why producing organic coffee is important? Organic agriculture does often require more work than conventional farming. When Equal Exchange workers talk to farmers about why they produce organic, it comes down to caring for the environment and protecting the earth for future generations; seems like that fits right in with being a green chalice congregation. Be a part of the mission on Sunday April 9 when coffee, chocolate and other items including Easter gift bags of milk chocolate minis will be available.

Did you know there is an Equal Exchange café in Boston and Seattle? Next time you are traveling in those areas stop by, check them out and enjoy a fresh cup of organic coffee or tea.

It Only Takes a Spark | Summer Camp 2017

Church camp is a great opportunity for personal and spiritual growth and a ton of fun! All camps take place at our Disciples of Christ camp and conference center, Loch Leven: . Camps are offered for age three (accompanied by parent) through 2017 high school grads. Registration packets are available in the church office and via email or postal mail upon request.

First Christian Church of Orange seeks to provide up to half scholarship of early camp registration cost for all active participants in children’s and youth ministries at FCCO.
FCCO needs time to process local church scholarship monies (“camperships”) and Pastor’s Section forms, hence the deadline for FCCO (Sunday, April 16, Easter) being prior to the Regional deadline dates. Thanks for your cooperation to make it all happen!

Please note:

The age/grade brackets have changed this year for ALL camps except CYF/high school. Please look closely at which camp you need for the grade being entered in fall 2017.

To assist with the age/grade change for Wee Camp and Mini Camp, rising 1st graders have the option in 2017 to attend Mini Camp by themselves or Wee Camp with a parent.

Regional scholarships are processed separately from FCCO camperships. Regional scholarship application and recommendation letters are due April 11. See parent email or contact Pastor Michelle.
